In collaboration with architect Rem Koolhaas and Petra Blaisse from Inside Outside, the supplier of natural stone SolidNature combined hard stone with soft textiles by ShowTex on its stand at Maison & Objet Paris, an event for interior professionals.

A formation of 60 rectangular stone slabs fanned around circular rooms, defined by ShowTex curtains consisting of three different fabrics. Hanging at a height of 5 metres, the top of the four curtains was made from white FP XL Mesh by ShowTex. At the bottom, faux silver leather was sewn on the outside of the curtains. The inside was covered with pleated Puccini stage velvets by ShowTex that were custom-dyed in shades of brown, orange and yellow to welcome the visitors and at the same time enhance the colour and strength of the natural stone. Velours Puccini is a light-weight cotton velvet with a medium satin sheen, which turned out to be the ideal fabric for the inside.

SolidNature drew inspiration from the 18th century biennial art event “Salon de Paris” to create a multifunctional environment with the purpose of exhibiting the work, meeting people and doing business. Custom-made curtains by ShowTex divided the stand in four circular spaces: a big central space, a cabinet room, a meeting room and a storage room that were given their own characteristic colour.
